Austin, TX - Colorado’s Kris Wilson captured the Pirelli World Challenge GTS Class Pole Position today during the early morning session at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas with a blistering time of 2:15.943 around the 20-turn F1 circuit.

I’m going to do my best to put down a great result for the team and for Aston Martin this weekend.

Wilson is performing driving duties this weekend in the 07 V8 Vantage GT4 car in lieu of full-season TRG-AMR Team Driver Max Riddle who is still recovering from illness.

Alongside Wilson was teammate Derek DeBoer driving the 09 V8 Vantage GT4 setting P8 for the race start later today. DeBoer, hailing from Medford, Oregon is also a full-season entry in the GTS field, bringing with him a wealth of experience from a history of endurance sportscar racing and other professional sports.

Kris Wilson, Team Driver, TRG-AMR North America: “I was surprised to have pulled that lap off but the conditions were perfect - the field is really evenly-keeled right now and full of some really good drivers. Being at this incredible track with such a great field is a real treat. Thanks to Max and Dave Riddle for putting me in the cockpit this weekend - get well soon, Max! I’m going to do my best to put down a great result for the team and for Aston Martin this weekend.”

Kevin Buckler, CEO, TRG-AMR North America: “Kris drove a perfect lap this morning - but that’s why we came here. We have had an aggressive testing plan for the last two months and it paid out in dividends today. The field seems tight well balanced - the race should be good. Our whole team is executing perfectly right now - two GT cars and two GTS cars - what a great event here at the amazing COTA. We’re going to bring home a great result this weekend for the team, for our partners, and of course for Aston Martin.”
