JEFF ALTENBURG QUOTES:

"I am very excited to be running in the GT race this weekend. I have only made a few GT starts, but they haven't been in really competitive rides. So I am super pumped about running this weekend with an experienced Viper team in a car that has been proven fast by several drivers so far this season. I would love to pull a top-five finish out of the deal, if I got on the podium I'd be very happy, and of course a win would be awesome, but we'll see what we can do with this being my first start in the Viper. I think I've got realistic goals for the weekend.

"Watkins Glen is a fun place to race. It has some fast sweeping esses and high-speed corners as well as some medium speed corners. It requires some power to pull you up through the esses and down that long straight, so I think the Viper will have the torque necessary to pull out of the toe of the boot. Other than that, to be fast at Watkins Glen, just like anywhere else, you just need to keep your momentum, maintain your speed through the turns and don't scrub off too much speed or brake too much entering the corners.

"The Vipers are nice cars to race. They have tons of torque and when they're right they handle very well. They can also be kind of an evil monster if they're wrong, but if they're right, they do what you want them to and you certainly can't argue with the torque and power."
