Elkhart Lake, Wis. – The highly-competitive and entertaining Touring Car division of the Pirelli World Challenge will return next month (June 23-25) as part of the KOHLER Grand Prix with the Verizon IndyCar Series at the legendary Road America four-mile road circuit.

The Touring Car class will be joining the PWC Grand Prix of Road America along with the GT/GTA/GT Cup Sprint (50-minute) races and the GTS Sprint (50-minute) events set for Saturday (June 24) and Sunday (June 25).

The TC category has already competed in six rounds in 2017 with some of the most exciting door-to-door, bumper-to-bumper action in the Pirelli World Challenge with five different winners in the first six races. Cars such as Audi, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Lotus, Mazda, Nissan and Porsche make up the Touring Car manufacturers expect to come to Road America.

“We are very pleased to announce the addition of the exciting Touring Car class at our Road America rounds,” said Greg Gill, president/CEO of WC Vision, producers of the Pirelli World Challenge Championships. “The TC competition this year has produced some of our best racing in PWC including the last two races at Lime Rock being determined by less than half of a second in the final laps. We expect another sensational two-race TC presentation at the historic Wisconsin road circuit.”

Young Paul Holton of Orlando, Fla., age 20, currently leads the Touring Car points standings following two race wins and three seconds in the first six rounds thus far in his C360R/Pfaff Audi RS3 LMS sedan.

Other TC winners this year include Dane Cameron, Elivan Goulart, Greg Liefooghe and Mason Filippi.

Among the early Road America TC entries are defending TC series champion Toby Gravohec of Celina, Tex., local racer Gino Carini of Milwaukee, Wis., Nick Wittmer of Montreal, Que., Canada, Samantha Tan of Gormley, Ont., Canada and Max Fedler of Denver, Colo.
