O'Reilly/NCRA Announces 2006 Late Model and Modified Schedules

TOPEKA, Kan. (Feb. 26, 2006) -- The O'Reilly/National Championship Racing Association has announced the 2006 schedules for their modified and late model divisions.

First to swing into action again this year is the modified series, with the first of their 11 races at the home of the NCRA, 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan. They will also compete at the three other venues from 2005 - the Belleville (Kan.) High Banks, Junction Motor Speedway (Neb.) and the Kansas State Fairgrounds. In addition, the Five-State Fairgrounds and Thunderhill Speedway, both in Kansas, return to the modified schedule after a one-year absence. The series will also venture to the Rooks County (Kan.) Fairgrounds, which hosted a NCRA sprint car race in 2004. A new facility for the modified series in this their ninth year is Mid-America Speedway in South Coffeyville, Okla. <pre> April 1 81 Speedway Park City, Kan. May 27 81 Speedway Park City, Kan. Oct 6-8 81 Speedway Park City, Kan. </pre> For their 17th season, late model pilots have 18 races to look forward to in 2006. They get a later start than the other series as they don't open until Memorial Day weekend, with two shows in the Cornhusker State - Mid- Nebraska Speedway and Nebraska Raceway Park. Both locations are carryovers from last year, along with 81 Speedway, Dodge City Raceway Park, Salina Speedway, Belleville High Banks, Junction Motor Speedway, and Oklahoma City's State Fair Speedway. New for the late models this season are dates in Missouri - at Bolivar Speedway and the brand-new Lucas Oil Speedway near Wheatland. <pre> May 26 Mid-Nebraska Speedway Doniphan, Neb.
