Scott Ivie Wins 2004 ASC Championship!

Scott Ivie, of San Ramon, Ca., wrapped up the 2004 American Stockcar Challenge Championship with another solid performance at Las Vegas Motorspeedway, November 6th and 7th. He finished fourth on Saturday and eleventh in the rain on Sunday. This allowed Scott to out point last year's champion, David Arnheiter, for the season's top position. Scott, in his rookie season, was able to finish every race he started, win three races, have three second place finishes, and finish third four times, out of seventeen races. He also had four pole positions.

According to Ivie in a post race interview; "Consistency was the key to winning the championship. Without the consistency, we would not have won."

Ivie extended his thanks to his team, the Carvajal Motorsports, Inc. crew, headed by Nick Jennings, and his sponsor, California Financial Group, for provided a fast, dependable race car for every event. This was by far the most competitive season American Stockcar has ever experienced and winning the championship means a lot, especially in his rookie season. Ivie had to contend with several obstacles during the season, such as, learning tracks he'd never been to, competing head to head with drivers such as Ross Thompson, Ken Stinnett, Nathan Swartzbaugh, and all the others, plus learning to road race stockcars in a brutal, competitive series. Scott was able to overcome the trials and tribulations to take the highest point on the podium.

Dave Arnheiter finished second for the season, 111 points behind Ivie, with one win, two seconds, and two third place finishes. He also had one pole start for the year. Steve R. Carvajal rounded out the top three positions, 109 points behind Arnheiter, with no wins, two second place finishes, and six thirds. Carvajal had one pole position.

The American Stockcar Challenge is the largest and fastest growing stockcar road racing series on the west coast, and probably, the country. The series has developed into the premier racing venue for anyone looking to road race stockcars!
