Atlanta Thursday Thunder report, results 2001-06-28

HAMPTON, GA (June 28, 2001) - Rick Godfrey Sr. and Joey Logano each earned their fourth wins of the season Thursday at Atlanta Motor Speedway's Thursday Thunder, the 10-week summer Legends racing series.

Jonesboro's Godfrey took the lead with just three laps remaining, leading Canton's Bruce Brogdon to the checkered flag.

Alpharetta's Logano started seventh and quickly moved his way to the front, earning his 12th consecutive Thursday Thunder win at Atlanta Motor Speedway, dating back to last season. John Wes Townley of Athens was second.

The rest of the feature races were postponed until next week, which will be Z93 double feature night. Great prizes will be given away, such as tickets to this November's Georgia-Pacific Winston Cup Qualifying and the ARCA 400 race, as well as a host of other great prizes, including dinner gift certificates, free haircuts and free oil changes from area businesses.

Thursday Thunder is a fun and affordable activity for the whole family. Admission for adults is just $5, children 6-11 are $1, and children 5 and under are free. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., and the racing action starts immediately. For more information call (770) 946-4211.
