Auburndale, FL- Tommy King survived a last lap three car shoot-out to score his first ever Limited Late Model win Saturday night at Auburndale Speedway. Dave Dunkin and Robbie Storer tried to deny the 25 year Bartow driver from victory lane but King won in what turned out to be a drag race off of turn four with Dunkin to inch the nose of his Ford across the line first. Dunkin was second and Storer crossed the stripe third still looking for an opening to challenge. Steve Ware and Bryan Storer complete the top five. Defending Limited Late Model Champion, Richard Elkins Jr. continues to hold the point lead while Robbie Storer's third place finish moves him into second and Ollie Harbin drops to third in the championship chase.

The 25 lap Street Stock feature was dominated by Travis Roland who went wire to wire to post his first feature win of the season in his number 07 Chevrolet. Johnny Gamble and James Wright III were left to battle for second with Gamble prevailing. Wright was third and maintains control of the division points lead. Michael King and Steve Ware rounded out the top five finishers.

Wade Leithead notched his best finish of the year by winning the 25 lap Modified Mini Stock feature over Mike Rudder, who came from the tail of the pack due to involvement in an early caution. Jay Kaminski held on to third followed by Don Ezell and Eugene Davidson. The points battle suffered a shake up as point leader Tony Davidson developed problems with his Mopar in practice and did not start the night's races. Davidson's father Eugene moves from third to first and Wayne Weaver maintains second with only a one point difference. Tony Davidson drops to third.

Daniel Clough continued his reign of terror during the month of May by winning his third feature for the month in the 15 lap V8 Pure Stock feature. Point leader Greg Bacon, the only driver to best Clough during the month, was a distant second followed by Jim Atkins, Troy Lacey and Mike Peace.

The 15 lap 4 Cylinder Pure Stock feature saw Tim McKenzie score his second feature win of the year. Mark Soule finished second and moved into the point lead. Joe Thomas, Matthew Craig and Scott Taylor were third through fifth.

The Allison Legacy cars were on hand and Tampa's Billy Dentmon posted the win in the 20 lap feature. Donald Allison slipped by Wayne Tigue Jr. for second after Tigue spun on the final lap in turn four while challenging for the win. Rene Destcoteaux of Mooresville, NC was third followed by David Malcomson and Doug Benjamin.

Charlene Lewis won her second race in a row in the Junior Division of the Racing for Kids Club. Sean Bass, Orrin Wright and Alexander Abbott were second through fourth. Larry McCormack Jr. held off a challenge by Richie Acres to win the senior division event followed by Acres, Aaron Williamson and Freddie Lucas. The Kids Club racing was sponsored by R-T Insurance.

To close out the month of May, a big Memorial Weekend Special is planned for this coming Saturday night. The Dwarf Cars join the regular line-up of Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Modified Mini Stocks, V8 Pure Stocks and 4 Cylinder Pure Stocks. The month of June will feature Legend cars on June 5th, Winged Sprints and Super Mini Cup cars for Fathers Day Weekend June 19th and Top Cops and Kids Club on June 26th. The Auburndale Speedway will be closed on June 12th for racing at the USA International Speedway with the USAR Hooters ProCup Series and SARA Modifeds.
