7th Annual Indiana Super Stock & UMP Modified Nationals.
Top ten points awards will be presented for both classes.

(Bloomington, Ind. - September 15, 2002) It's been a great season at Bloomington Speedway. Mike Miles and his crew have done their best all season to provide the fans with great motorsports entertainment. As much as we hate to see it end, we are at that time. It's time to run our final race, present the hardware and checks to the guys who have worked so hard for them all season, and to give the fans one last great show to get them through the long, cold winter.

On September 21, we will put the spotlight on O'Neal Wood Products Open Wheel Modifieds and the Tire & Wheel Center Super Stocks. Because the focus is generally on the sprint cars, these great competitors don't always get the attention that they deserve. We've seen fans leave early and miss the best racing of the evening. While these guys are mostly budget racers; there are lots of great racers among them; and what they may lack in financing, they more than make up for in enthusiasm and desire to win. On Saturday night they will they will be center stage with no distractions.

This special Saturday night race will give the drivers who haven't had the opportunity to race at Bloomington Speedway very often because they don't get off work in time an opportunity to race on the red clay. For many of them it may be their first visit to Bloomington Speedway. Since Brownstown Speedway wrapped their season up last night, you can probably expect a lot of their regulars to unload at Bloomington Speedway

These guys have been in competition just about every Friday night this summer. And, each time they rolled onto the track, there were at least a dozen cars with a good chance at victory. And, very nearly the whole field if you count "dark horses". This is the kind of competition for which Bloomington Speedway is famous. While the car specifications help to promote this great competition, the biggest factor is the track itself. The well prepared Bloomington Speedway oval, gives the driver who got a bad draw or who had trouble in his heat race the opportunity to come from the back and win. That isn't to say that winning from the back is easy. It isn't. But, at Bloomington Speedway, it's possible.

For the first time in a long time both the O'Neal Wood Products modifieds and the Tire & Wheel Center super stocks will qualify. These guys almost never get the chance to do this; but this is their night; and they'll get to qualify. You can probably expect to see new track records set for both classes.

Each feature will be 30 laps, This will give them more time to get to the front; but the risk will be greater because of the $1250 (with proper decals) first place money. Also, the competition will probably be tougher; because of the huge field of cars that we expect to unload for this show.

This program may well pull more cars than any show this season. The winner of each class will receive $1250, assuming the proper decals are displayed on his mount. Also, the payoff is higher than normal all the way back. Each driver who makes one of the features will receive a minimum of $100. With this amount of money up for grabs, just about every car in the state should show up at Bloomington Speedway.

Grandstand admission for this special show is only $12; and pit admission is only $25. Overnight camping is permitted as are coolers. No Glass please
