David's younger brother looks for another Stremme rookie title

PENDLETON, Ind. (February 2, 2004) - Indiana Late Model standout Bobby Stremme, the younger brother of 2002 ASA National Tour Rookie of the Year David, has announced his 2004 plans to compete in the ASA Late Model Series. Bobby, 24, will drive a No. 53 car owned by Rick Bruder and his brother David.

"I'm looking forward to racing in a touring series and gaining experience at a lot of different tracks," said Bobby Stremme. "There has been a lot of interest in the ASA Late Model Series, so it should be a challenging, but fun first season. The support David will provide will be a huge asset to our season. I want to thank David and Rick for this opportunity and appreciate everybody that will help with our 2004 program."

Stremme will receive sponsorship from Innovator Trailers and Suspension Springs Specialists during the 2004 season. Noted chassis manufacturer Robert Hamke is building their 2004 car and will provide support during the upcoming 14-event schedule.

"I'm pleased to form a partnership with Rick Bruder and assist in providing Bobby an opportunity to gain experience in a touring series," said David Stremme. "With Robert Hamke's shop being close to my Busch program, I can provide some input with Bobby's car. A lot of friends that helped in my racing career will be a part of our ASA team this season. It should be a great first year with the ASA Late Model Series."

David Stremme made 34 starts in the ASA National Tour, capturing two victories, three poles, 14 top-five finishes and 23 top 10s. He drove to his first series victory at Salem Speedway in July of 2002 and then followed up that stellar performance with winning the 200-lap event at Indianapolis Raceway Park in September. He currently competes in the Busch Series with Braun Racing under the Chip Ganassi Racing umbrella.

Bobby Stremme began his racing career in 1996, winning a Mini-Stock event at New Paris Speedway in Northern Indiana. After several successful seasons in Mini-Stocks and Street Stocks, he advanced to the Late Model division.

Stremme captured three New Paris Late Model championships from 2000-2003, and amassed over 30 victories. He also gained experience at the tracks of Plymouth, Toledo, Anderson, Indianapolis Raceway Park and Kalamazoo.

The 2004 ASA Late Model Series begins at Madison International Speedway in Oregon, Wis., on Saturday, May 8.
