DECKER COMES FROM DEEP IN THE FIELD TO RECORD SECOND DIRT BIG BLOCK MODIFIED FEATURE WIN OF THE SEASON AT BREWERTON SPEEDWAY ON FERRIS INDUSTRIES NIGHT

BREWERTON, NY..Billy Decker came from deep in the field to record his second DIRT Big Block Modified feature race win of the season last Friday at Brewerton Speedway on Ferris Industries Night. Decker started in the 17th starting position and for several laps the veteran actual lost positions. But, once the former Track Champion at the D-shaped DIRT Demon started moving to the front there was no stopping the Gypsum Wholesalers ride.

Dan Williams raced out to the early lead at the start of the Ferris Industries DIRT Big Block Modified feature race from the outside pole starting position. Williams would lead the opening eight circuits. Vic Coffey took the lead away from Williams on lap nine. Coffey would hold the lead through lap-11 when he lost power on the track. Williams inherited the lead and would hold it until lap-16.

It was on lap-17 when Pat Ward took the top spot away from Williams. Ward had company working through the field and with seven circuits remaining the top five of Jimmy Phelps, Tim Fuller, Billy Decker and Tim McCreadie were all in contention for the victory. Decker made the move past his teammate for the lead on lap-31. In the final laps Decker remained flawless and earned the $2,000 payday.

Jimmy Phelps, Fuller, Ward and McCreadie finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Alan Johnson, Stewart Friesen, Williams, Matt Sheppard and Chuck Bower rounded out the top ten finishers in the talented field.

Sean Lias claimed the victory in the 20-lap IMCA Modified Dean Hubbs Memorial Race last Friday night.. Rob Keller, Johnny Hill, Les Hubbard and Dale Caswell finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Bill Anderson Jr. led the opening two circuits of the main event before Rob Keller took the top spot away. Keller appeared headed to victory until Lias made the winning move with just two laps to go.

Tim Devendorf won his second 20-lap ESDCA Mod Lite feature race of the season last Friday night. Doug Williams, Sterling Miller, Mike Isabell and Kevin Donhauser finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Gary Schug and Dave Trytek were early feature race leaders. It was on lap seven when Devendorf took the lead and the defending Track Champion was never headed.

Joey Delacruz won his first 15-lap Four Cylinder Super Stock feature race win of the season last Friday night. Rich Rainville, Todd Williamson, Lorrie Herbert and Aron Backus followed Delacruz across the finish line. Delacruz led the entire distance over the 20-car field of Super Stocks.

Jerry Herbert was the race winner of the 25-lap Four Cylinder Enduro main event. Jerry Curcie Sr., Les Baker, Mike Jones and Gary Schirm finished in positions second through fifth respectively.

This Friday at Brewerton Speedway the Empire Super Sprints will join the DIRT Big Block Modified and ESDCA Mod Lites in competition. Show time is 7:30 p.m. For more information please go on line to www.brewertonspeedway.com or call the track office at 315-668-6906 or the race line at 668-RACE.
