BREWERTON SPEEDWAY PREPARES FOR SUPER DIRT WEEK CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT FOR MR. DIRT 358-MODIFIED TOUR

BREWERTON, NY -- Leaf Racewear will present the final event of the 2006 race season at Brewerton Speedway on Thursday October 5 during Super DIRT Week. Featured will be the 13th Annual Mr. DIRT 358-Modified tour 75-lap Super DIRT Week Championship plus the popular ESDCA Mod Lites in a 25-lapper. Without a doubt, this is the show every race fan must see during Super DIRT Week as typical 3 and 4 wide competition is prevalent at the "D-Shaped DIRT Demon". Race time is set for 7:30pm.

Alan Johnson is the defending champion and 4-time winner of the $3,000 to win Leaf Racewear 75-Lap Brewerton Super DIRT Week Championship. Brett Hearn is the only other repeat winner, with a pair of victories. Frank Cozze, Tim Fuller, and Bob McCreadie are the only other drivers that have won at Brewerton during Super DIRT Week.

Some of the more memorable finishes of Super DIRT Week have been right here at Brewerton. Who could ever forget the photo finish duel between friends Bob McCreadie and Tim Fuller in 2001 that brought the grandstands to their feet? Or how about the thrilling late race battle between Alan Johnson and the legendary Jack Johnson in 2004?

The ESDCA Mod Lite division will be the featured support division with a $200 to win 25-lap special. Tim Devendorf, the speedway champion for 2006, will fend off all top competitors including Doug Williams, Dan Williams, Lowell Zehr, Darren Austin, and Ken Gamlen.

358-Modified competitors are reminded of pre-entering for the Leaf Racewear 75. The early entry deadline is September 16 for the $20 fee, while the fee increases to $40 after September 16. Entry forms are located on the Brewerton Speedway website and can be printed off from there.

Brewerton Speedway gates will open at 4:30pm, with race competition taking the green flag at 7:30pm. For more information on the Leaf Racewear season-ending special at Brewerton Speedway on October 5, contact the track office at (315) 668-6906 or visit the official website at www.brewertonspeedway.com.
