Billy Crane Wins The Howe Racing Performance Award
Salem, IN (November 22, 2005) -- Independence, Missouri driver Billy Crane has won the Howe Racing Performance Award for the 2005 CRA Super Series Presented By Spray Power season. Howe Racing will award Crane, who gained the highest number of positions through out the entire 2005 season, with a $400 cash bonus at the 2005 series awards banquet on January 7th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Indianapolis. Crane finished the season with 121 total gained positions, which is an average of over 7 gained positions per event during the 2005 season. The young teenager finished second in the FLF Racecars/Cometic Gasket Rookie Of The Year Award standings and finished eleventh in the 2005 CRA Super Series season points.
16-year-old Landon Cassill Fairfax, Iowa native finished in second with 71 gained positions. Cassill raced with the CRA Super Series on a part-time basis in 2005 while competing full-time with the ASA Late Model Series. Cassill finished in fourteenth in the 2005 CRA Super Series season points.
Wheaton, Illinois driver Eddie Hoffman finished in third with 66 gained positions. Rookie series competitor Jason Shively finished in fourth with 60 gained positions. 2005 CRA Super Series FLF Racecars/Cometic Gasket Rookie Of The Year Tommy St. John rounded out the top five with 19 gained positions during the 2005 season.
