Event To Now Involve Five Super Late Model Series In Three Days Of Racing

Lakeland, FL (December 7, 2004) -- Officials from the CRA Super Series, Sunbelt Super Late Model Series, O'Reilly Southern All-Star Racing Series and USA International Speedway in Lakeland, Florida have announced that the Rules of Competition for the 2005 SpeedFest at USA International Speedway in Lakeland, Florida on January 26-29 are now available. The information available includes the events rules, purse payout for each event, bonuses money available, travel money payout information and the schedule of events.

The 2005 SpeedFest will include three nights of racing, with feature events on all three nights and will now involve five of the top Super Late Model racing organizations in the United States including the CRA Super Series, Sunbelt Super Late Model Series, O'Reilly Southern All-Star Racing Series, and the combination of the PASS Pro Stock Touring Series from the North East and USRA (United States Racing Association) formerly the ROMCO Series from Texas.

"This is a great opportunity for Late Model fans and teams throughout the country," noted USA International Speedway promoter Bill Martino. "Everyone is in need of a mid-winter racing fix throughout the country, and central Florida is a great place for everyone to converge for an awesome three days of racing. We are building this event to be one of the premier events in all of super late model racing."

The schedule calls for rig parking, registration and open practice on Wednesday, January 26. Thursday will see the first night of racing with the focus on the cars and stars from the Sunbelt Super Late Model Series and the O'Reilly Southern All-Star Racing Series, with the top 10 qualifiers from each series guaranteed starting positions and the rest of the field open to all late model competitors. Friday night racing will feature the top stars from the CRA Super Series and a combination of the PASS Pro Stock Touring Series and USRA, with the top 10 qualifiers from each group guaranteed starting positions and the rest of the field open to all late model competitors.

The weekend will culminate with a 200-lap event on Saturday night featuring all the top stars in short track racing, all battling to be the "King Of The Super Late Models" with bragging rights for the entire 2005 race season!

The payout will include $3000-to-win purses for the 100-lap features on Thursday and Friday, and an $8000-to-win purse for the 200-lap feature on Saturday. There will also be guaranteed Saturday starting positions for each group's top 4 finishers with Thursday and Friday night's events. There will be bonuses available for the top five finishers with each Super Late Model group on each racing night. With the purses, series bonuses, and travel bonuses in place, it will be possible for one driver to take home over $15,000 in cash.

It is important to note that teams do not have to be affiliated with any of the series to compete in the races, but events during SpeedFest have provisional starting positions and bonus monies tied to the five series. All competitors, however, are welcome to compete for traditional, qualifying-based starting positions on all three nights.

The involved series will be mailing out the event information to there respective competitors or you can go online for the information at: www.usainternationalspeedway.com, www.sunocosuperseries.com, www.southern-allstars.com, or www.fascar.com
