Salem, IN (November 9, 2003) -- Sunoco Super Series officials along with Charlie Stapleton, owner of Shadybowl Speedway, are proud to announce that for the first time ever the Sunoco Super Series will sanction the 16th Annual Neal Sceva Memorial at Shadybowl Speedway on Saturday, May 22, 2004. The event will honor the memory of local legendary racer Neal Sceva. The event will be a 151-lap Sunoco Super Series event in honor of the Sceva's famous racecar number, which was 51.

"Over the past three years the Sunoco Super Series events have become Shadybowl Speedway's best races," commented Stapleton. "We felt it was only fitting to have our track's greatest racer ever to be honored by one of the tracks biggest shows of the season. We are very happy to continue to honor the memory of Neal Sceva and I know he will be remembered with another outstanding show by the Sunoco Super Series!"

The late resident of near by Urbana, Ohio, who passed away in the 1980's from cancer, started racing at Shadybowl Speedway in the 1950's. Sceva's black number 51 is remembered as the all-time leader in feature wins at Shadybowl Speedway. Besides racing at Shadybowl Speedway, Sceva also traveled to race at other tracks in the area in the Mid-west, Sceva posted both NASCAR and ASA wins in Ohio and Indiana. Sceva's son Dave recently announced that he would be competing in a Shadybowl Speedway Late Model in 2004, bringing back the black number 51 to compete at "The Bowl" again.

The Sunoco Super Series will have a second show scheduled at Shadybowl Speedway again in 2004. The Stapleton Automotive 150 will be held on Saturday, July 31st, 2004. The Sunoco Super Series May event in 2003 was canceled because of weather. In the series second Shadybowl Speedway event of 2003, the Stapleton Automotive 150 Presented By Lucas Oil Products on Saturday, July 26th, series veteran Jeff Lane dominated from his front row starting position, leading every lap in getting his second series victory of the season, and his second series victory at Shadybowl Speedway.

The Sunoco Super Series is in the process of completing it's 2004 schedule. Additional event dates will be announced as they are added. More information is available about the Sunoco Super Series at www.sunocosuperseries.com.
