Salem, IN (August 17, 2006) -- Brian Ross, a two time CRA Super Series Champion and winner of the 1999 Winchester 400, is the first driver to file an entry for the 35th Annual Winchester 400 CRA Super Series event on the famed High Banks of Winchester Speedway located in Winchester, Indiana on Sunday, October 15th. The 1999 season was a great one for Ross who won the CRA Super Series Championship by winning 9 events that season including the Winchester 400, the first Winchester 400 sanctioned by the CRA Super Series. Ross was on a lap by himself in getting the win in the 400, his brother Scott was second in Brian's back-up car one lap down. Ross would go on to compete full-time in the ARCA RE/MAX Series in 2000 claiming Rookie Of The Year honors. Ross would return to the CRA Super Series in 2001, claiming his second series championship, currently the only driver to have more than one championship with the series.

Other notables in the 1999 Winchester 400 include multi time NASCAR Elite Division Champion Jeff Fultz, who is currently racing in the Hooters Pro Cup Southern Division, he finished in third. Current CRA Super Series points leader and 2000 series Champion and Rookie Of The Year competitor Scott Hantz was making one of his hand full of starts with the series that season. Hantz finished in 16th place, completing 251 laps. Several drivers had career high finishes in the event including series veteran Chet Blanton who finished 4th, former series drivers David Ecoff who finished 5th, Brian Fries who finished 9th and Eric Nale who finished in 11th after starting on the tail of the event with no practice.

The 35th Annual Winchester 400 winner's paycheck could be in excess of $25,000. $12,000 is the winner's share of the base purse, plus an available $3,500 bonus to the winner if it is a former Winchester 400 winner or if the winner in a non-CRA Super Series regular.
