New Egypt, NJ (July 21) -- The stars and cars will all come out to play for the only midweek special of its kind in New Jersey this season, as New Egypt Speedway and Pepsi-Cola present the Advance Auto Parts Modified Super DIRT Series 100-lap Heat Wave on Wednesday night, August 2.

The long distance run, part of DIRT’s summer tour that snakes through three states and Canada, will afford fans a singular opportunity to see the sport’s best of the best heat up the night in a midweek sizzler sure to set your heart afire. Top drivers looking to snag the event’s $6,000 top prize include New York hotshots Alan Johnson, Danny Johnson, Steve Paine, Billy Decker, Tim McCreadie, Kenny Tremont, Pat Ward, Tim Fuller and Vic Coffey; New Jersey’s own Billy Pauch, Brett Hearn and Jimmy Horton; Massachusetts upstart Andy Bachetti; and Pennsylvania sensations Kenny Brightbill, Doug Hoffman and Keith Hoffman.

As this formidable field of Modified stars sets the track ablaze, fans can cool down with Pepsi-Cola. The night’s primary sponsor will have a ton of giveaways for the grandstand crowd, and the Busch Grand National car of world-renowned Pepsi driver Jeff Gordon will be on display for fan photo ops.

Can New Egypt regulars Billy Pauch, Kenny Brightbill and Keith Hoffman incinerate the DIRT Mod Squad? Or will the New Yorkers extinguish any chance of a hometown score? It’s the race of the year in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey -- and the winner will be decided on August 2.

Gates open at 4 pm, with warmups scheduled for 6:30 and time trials starting at 7 pm. General admission tickets for New Egypt’s 100-lap Modified Super DIRT Series Heat Wave are $20 for adults, $12 for seniors 65+, and $7 for children ages 7-12. Kids 6 and under are always free. The speedway is located on Route 539, minutes from Six Flags Great Adventure and the NJ Turnpike. For more information, call the track office at (609) 758-1900.
