Rick Knowles led 22 laps while Dave Kuhlman led two laps and Tim Hebert led one lap. Knowles and Kuhlman ran side-by-side for ten laps before Kuhlman powered by Knowles, coming down for the white flag. Nine cautions, all for spins, slowed the event.

Tom Selmi^Òs mount oiled down the track causing seven cars to spin in turn one. A second caution was thrown for a five car accident on the backstretch.
