Taco Bell 300 winner to make hometrack stand in Bailey's 300 Nov 9th.

(South Boston, VA) The phones are ringing off the hook for Frank Deiny Jr. this week. After winning the most prestigious race of his career, the Mechanicsville (VA) native is only temporarily basking in the limelight of his Taco Bell 300 victory, while getting geared up for another challenge in the Bailey's 300 at Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway on November 9th.

"I'm usually building shocks and making sure people get the parts they need for their race cars", says an unassuming Deiny Jr. "It's a little different this week after picking up my win in Martinsville (VA). I've been trying to win that race for nine or ten years and just haven't been able to pull it off. We've made some good runs in the past, but have never been in a position to win it at the end. It's amazing the way this year has changed things. Two years ago, I couldn't buy a late model ride and now I've picked up the Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway Championship, posted some good finishes in the NASCAR Southwest Tour, and raced to victory in the biggest race of my career."

Deiny was quick to mention the value of racing against the best competition in NASCAR's Weekly Racing Series presented by Dodge at Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway. Three drivers from the Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway legendary Textilease Late Model Division posted Top 5 finishes in the "Granddaddy of all Late Model Races", the Taco Bell 300 at Martinsville Speedway. Frank Deiny Jr. posted the win with Todd Massey (#3 Haw River, NC) finishing third and Dean Ward (#2 Winston-Salem, NC) capturing fifth in his Fallen Trucking Chevrolet.

"Racing at South Boston has definitely been the difference in getting to victory lane this year. When you come to a track that has a Brandon Butler and Todd Massey, both proven Track Champions, you know you're going against the best. Racing against these guys each week makes you better. Racing at South Boston gives you the edge that you need to be successful. Having to run for the championship against the talent here is unbelievable. You know these guys are going to show up every week and you've got to be that much better. Winning at Martinsville is great and I hope that it gets things rolling for us through the rest of the upcoming races, but the Bailey's 300 at South Boston will be the biggest test to come. I usually like to go into other tracks and sort of shake things up in someone else's backyard. Take away their hometrack advantage and show them what we've got. When all these guys like Phillip Morris and Ray Young come to my turf they're looking to do the same thing. I've got to hold onto the hometrack advantage and not let Brandon Butler, Todd Massey, Dean Ward, or any of the others take it from me. There is a lot riding on the Bailey's race, especially with national television. It's great racing for our local fans, but the opportunities to put on a show for the national audience is that much more important. It's an audition in front of the whole world and it can't be taken lightly. I've got a busy schedule coming up with some races out West, but my main focus when I show up in November will be to show everybody who is champion at Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway."

The Bailey's 300 traditionally attracts the best Late Model Stock Car competitors from up and down the East Coast and beyond. Last year South Boston's Track Champion and NASCAR Regional Champion, Brandon Butler, drove his Bailey's sponsored mount to victory. The November 9th Bailey's 300, at Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway, will be broadcast on Speed Channel on a taped delayed basis. The airdate for the Bailey's 300 will be announced in October.

Time trials, heat races and a last chance qualifier will be used to determine the 36 car-starting field. Grandstand gates are scheduled to open at 9am, with time trials at 10am and the Bailey's 300 at 3pm.

Reserved seats are $30 in advance and $35 at the gate. Adult general admission tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate. General admission for young adults (10-15) is only $10 with children 9 and under admitted free. A limited number of $15 back straight seats will be available for purchase the on race day.
