REAKES, MARSDEN, DELACRUZ, HERBERT, & DOYLE WIN FEATURES AT FULTON SPEEDWAY ON FAMILY FUN NIGHT

FULTON, NY -- Fulton Speedway stock car racing fans were treated to exciting action last Saturday September 9 on the Snap-On Tools, Avon Products, and Maple View Garage sponsored evening. Winning feature events on $5 Admission Family Fun Night were Sammy Reakes, IV in the DIRT Sportsman, Rusty Marsden in the Pure Stocks, Joey Delacruz in the 4-Cylinder Super Stocks, and Josh Herbert in the 4-Cylinder Enduro.

Sammy Reakes, IV of Central Square won his fourth DIRT Sportsman 20-lap main event of the 2006 season. Reakes started third on the field and took the lead from early leader Mike Bowman on lap 6, pulling away enroute to his victory. Roy Bresnahan made a late race charge to finish second, followed by Mike Holmes, Mike Bowman, and Bob Sears in his best ever finish.

Rusty Marsden of Mexico made a last corner pass of leader Ron Hawker to win his second Pure Stock feature of the year, this time in the borrowed Curt Prevo ride. Hawker was the early leader with Marsden leading laps 2-16. Hawker retook the lead with three laps to go and left third starting Marsden room underneath to take the win. Third was invader Nick Rizzo, followed by Ron Marsden, and Phil Marsden.

Young Joey Delacruz of Fulton won his second 4-Cylinder Super Stock feature of the year at Fulton. Delacruz started on the pole and led every lap in the 15-lap distance. Chuck Powelczyk was a strong second, followed by Rich Murtaugh, Aron Backus, and Bill Tice.

Josh Herbert made a late race pass of Mark Johnston late in the 25-lap 4-Cylinder Enduro, his second win on the race season. Johnston had to settle for second, followed by Skip DeGroff, Brian McConnell, and Jerry Herbert.

The One on One Spectator races were won by Jim Rider, who was driving a street legal Honda CRX. The $650 to win King's Smash'em Crash'em Demolition Derby was won by Jake Doyle in a Grand Imperial.

Coming up next Saturday night at Fulton Speedway, Canale Insurance will present Victoria 200 Weekend qualifiers for the DIRT Sportman, DIRT Pro Stocks, and Pure Stocks while the Victoria Championships will be presented for the ESDCA Mod Lites, 4-Cylinder Super Stocks, and 4-Cylinder Enduros. The ESDCA Mod Lites will compete in the 36-lap Doug Cooper Memorial event, while the Modifieds will also be on hand for Victoria 200 hot laps. Race time is set for 6pm.

PURE STOCKS (20-Laps) -- RUSTY MARSDEN, Ron Hawker, Nick Rizzo, Ron Marsden, Phil Marsden, Steve Woodworth, Jim Lewis, Billy Flask, Bruno Richard, Joe Buske, Jim Donaldson, Bill Thomas, Bob Whipple, Josh Blackwell, Adam Guilds, Mike Watkins, Chuck Thomas, Joe Briere, Gary Barton, Nathan Peckham, Mike Minutolo, Rob Whipple.

4-CYLINDER SUPER STOCKS (15-Laps) -- JOEY DELACRUZ, Chuck Powelczyk, Rich Murtaugh, Aron Backus, Bill Tice, Claude Hutchings Jr., Lorraine Powelczyk, Chris Fountaine, Sam Carista, Jason Patterson, Jeff Herbert, Sam Curcie.

4-CYLINDER ENDURO (25-Laps) -- JOSH HERBERT, Mark Johnston, Skip DeGroff, Brian McConnell, Jerry Herbert.
