ISABELL HOLDS OFF DANNY JOHNSON FOR FIRST EVER DIRT MODIFIED FEATURE WIN AT FULTON SPEEDWAY ON COORS LIGHT / TRACEY ROAD EQUIPMENT NIGHT

FULTON, NY...Jeff Isabell held off Danny Johnson to win his first ever DIRT Big Block Modified feature race at Fulton Speedway last Saturday on Coors Light / Tracey Road Equipment Night. Isabell led the entire 35-lap distance, but had to hold off Johnson during the final 15-laps to earn the victory. The triumph for the owner / driver of the JIR Motorsports team was worth $2,000.

Isabell jumped out to the initial lead over the 25-car starting field from the pole starting position in the Coors Light / Tracey Road Equipment main event. Isabell was fast from the start and after five circuits he was being chased in the top five by Steve Hulsizer, A.J. Romano, Tony Buffa and Sean Beardsley. The first caution period of the event came on lap-14 when Vinnie Vitale lost power on the track.

At the halfway mark Isabell was still the leader and was being followed by Danny Johnson who moved up fast from the 14th starting position. Jeff Rudalavage, Hulsizer, Tim Fuller, Romano, Jimmy Phelps, Billy Decker, Tim Sears and Beardsley raced in positions third through tenth respectively at the halfway stage in the highly competitive field.

Throughout the last half of the event Johnson continued to make runs at Isabell, but could never take away the top spot. It appeared that Johnson was faster through the turns, but Isabell would always power away down both straight-aways. Isabell clearly earned his first ever victory against a very talented feature field. Hulsizer, Decker and Fuller completed the top five feature finishers. Hulsizer earned his best Fulton finish of the season.

Alan Johnson came from the 18th starting position to finish sixth. Romano had his best outing of the season with a strong seventh place finish. Tom Sears, Beardsley and Jim Witko completed the top ten feature finishers with strong efforts as well. The first 21 finishers completed the entire 35-lap distance on the lead lap.

Jim Bowman won his first 20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature race of the 2005 season last Saturday night at Fulton Speedway. Bowman held off Joey Williams during the final five circuits for the victory in the event which featured plenty of two and three wide competition. Kevin Bates, winner of the first two features this season, had to settle for third. Mike Bowman and Brett Tonkin completed the top five feature finishers.

Joe Stefanski claimed his second 20-lap DIRT Pro Stock feature race victory last Saturday night at Fulton Speedway. The talented Western New York State driver passed former Fulton Speedway Track Champion Jeremy Clark to earn the victory. Dick Parkhurst, Bill Clark Jr. and defending Track Champion Lee Burnett completed the top five feature finishers in the 21-car starting field.

Despite rain surrounding the area fans were treated to a tremendous race program which featured 27 DIRT Modifieds, 28 DIRT Sportsman, 22 DIRT Pro Stocks, 25 Pure Stocks and 25 Four Cylinder Enduro cars.
