WARD CLAIMS THIRD WIN OF THE SEASON AT FULTON SPEEDWAY ON BURKE'S DO IT BEST HOME CENTERS NIGHT

FULTON, NY...Pat Ward won his third Fulton Speedway DIRT Big Block Modified feature race of the season last Saturday on Burke's Do It Best Home Centers Night. Ward worked his way up patiently from the 14th starting position to earn the victory in the Gypsum Express DIRT Big Block Modified rain. The victory for the LJL Motorsports team was worth $2,000.

Donnie Wetmore Jr. jumped out to the early lead at the start of the Burke's Do It Best Home Centers DIRT Big Block Modified feature from the pole starting position. After five laps Wetmore continued to lead and was being followed in the top five by Vinnie Prentice, Ryan Phelps, Pat Ward and Jim Witko. Wetmore would lead the first 10-laps of the main event.

Vitale took the top spot away from Wetmore on lap-11. At the halfway mark Vitale continued to lead and was followed in the top five by Tim Fuller, Ward, Wetmore and Tom Sears. Ryan Phelps, Alan Johnson, Witko, Steve Hulsizer and Jimmy Phelps raced in positions sixth through tenth respectively at the halfway stage.

It was on lap-20 when Ward moved into the lead by passing both Vitale and Fuller. In the closing laps Ward was able to pull away and went on for a comfortable victory over the talented field. The battle for second through sixth was a torrid one. Tom Sears worked up for a strong second place finish with Fuller, Johnson and Vitale completing the top five feature finishers.

Kevin Bates won his third 20-lap DIRT Sportsman feature race last Saturday. Brett Tonkin, Sam Reakes IV, Mike Holmes and Mark Yorker followed Bates across the finish line. Fellow Pennsylvania drivers Bates and Tonkin battled for the feature race victory throughout the last half of the race.

Dick Parkhurst, Jeremy Clark, Bob Buono and Ray Maloney finished in positions second through fifth respectively. Rood took the lead away from Bill Clark Jr. on lap-17 and held on the rest of the way for the victory.

Hawker took the lead away from Crouse on lap-13 and went on for the victory over the competitive field.

Don Fenner earned the victory in the 20-lap Mod Lite feature race. Doug Williams, Darren Forbes, Lowell Zehr and Frank Doll Jr. completed the top five feature finishers.
