HARDEEVILLE, S.C. (March 16, 2002) - The Hardeeville Motor Speedway opened its Saturday night racing season with a National Touring Race for the Allison Legacy Cars. Chad McCumbee of Supply, N.C. picked up the win in the Allison Legacy Cars. Eric King, the 2001 Pro Division National Champion from Hartsville, S.C. won the Legends Cars main event. Don Dean of Sheldon, S.C. picked up the Xtreme Stock Car victory. Hubert Into of Bloomingdale, Ga. topped the Street Stock field and Stpehen Moore of Harleysville, S.C. was victorious in the Mini Stock main event.

In Friday night heat race action, King and the 2001 Master Divison National Points runnerup, Tommy Jordan also of Hartsville, S.C. picked up the Legends Cars victories. Dean continued his winning ways by picking up the Xtreme Stock Car heat. Into of won the Street Stock heat race and picking up where he left off in 2001, Moore topped the Mini Stock field.

Racing will return to the Hardeeville Motor Speedway on Saturday night, March 23, 2002 for the Coca Cola Spring Nationals featuring a 100 lap feature for the O.C. Welch Ford-Lincoln-Mercury Late Models paying $1,500-to-win. Also racing that night will be the Legends Cars, Street Stocks and the Xtreme Stock Cars.
