Great weather and great racing for the final round of the Carmel Sod Fall Festival. Bruce Tunny the three time, three time Speedrome Late Model track champion won the 25 lap figure eight with a last lap pass over Chargin Charlie Reed. Bruce used that diamond move he patented way back in early 1999 as they came off turn three of the last lap. The first ever open wheel modified ran a Speedrome figure 8 and the two time two time Modified track champ was third.

In the Late Model/Modified it was a thriller with lots of crashes. Early race leader Charlie Reed and Scott George had an incident early and Billy George inherited the lead. But a crash took out Billy and others including the 2001 Speedrome Modified rookie of the year Cynthia Sizemore. Doug Greig took over the lead and held on over a very improved Joe Thurman and Casey White once again with a good showing was third.

In stocks the last driver to arrive at the track to take a qualifying run was Corey Turner. Corey stormed to the front to win the Stock oval feature over Gary Wray and Jack Smith.

Roadrunner A feature was won by the newlywed Casey Victery over Keiffer Tabor and third was James Toby Eads. Roadrunner B feature was won by Steve Grubbs for Barlows and Jimmy Hardcastle was second followed by Shawn Eastridge.

The program ended by a special event. The two time Speedrome Modified Champ Billy George introduced his ride with the champ drive program. Fans were asked to ride in the Casino Advantage two seat Modified. Billy and son Jon George gave rides to over 100 fans. Each fan took a lap with the champ. Special thanks for Casino Advantage's Regina George and the entire George racing team.

Saturday night November 10 is the Speedrome Awards Banquet at Primo Banquet Hall on Indy's Southside. Gates open at 6:30pm and dinner at 7pm and awards until 8:30pm and then its entertainment by "Danger Will Robinson." Don't miss it tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the door.
