PHOENIX, NY - The Stadium International Trucks / Pit Stop Convenience Stores No. 87 DIRT Modified driven by 21 year old Jason Barney of Constantia, will be competing on Saturday nights this season at John and Laura Wight's Can-Am Motorsports Park, Ltd. along with Sunday night competition at the Utica-Rome Speedway.

Team owner Eric Kingsley commented, "We are excited about racing at Can-Am this summer and helping promote the new Stadium International location in Watertown."

Last summer at Can-Am, Barney had several good runs, including a fine fourth place finish in the 100-lap Sunoco Race Fuels 358-Modified Super DIRT Series event on August 23.

During the off season, Kingsley reconfigured Can-Am's fast and tricky half-mile into a much smaller four-tenths mile oval, similar to his Utica-Rome Speedway, where Barney won his first career DIRT 358-Modified feature event just last summer.

"With our experience at Utica-Rome and our good runs last year at Can-Am, I think Jason will have a great shot at doing really well this year on the new track I constructed at Can-Am," said Kingsley.

Armed with two new 2000 Teo Pro Cars and one 2001x Bicknell, the Stadium International team will begin the 2001 season in Charlotte, North Carolina on the Dirt Track @ Lowe's Motor Speedway. Barney will compete in the much anticipated Advance Auto Parts Super DIRT Series twin 50 lap events with two Big Block machines powered by Moshier Racing Engines out of Phoenix.

Following the Charlotte trip, the Stadium International team will prepare their 358-Modified for the opener at Can-Am Motorsports Park, which is scheduled for Saturday April 28. This will be the team's first full season at Can-Am. After Can-Am gets their new season underway, the team will focus on the 40-lap opener at Utica-Rome on Sunday May 6, where Barney finished with four top ten finishes in 358-Modified competition last season.

Barney will also compete in select Sunoco Race Fuels 358-Modified Super DIRT Series events beginning on Sunday May 13 at Utica-Rome, along with several Advance Auto Parts Super DIRT Series Big Block Modified specials.

Stadium International Trucks along with Pit Stop Convenience Stores provide the main backing for the young team. Joining the sponsor list for the 2001 season are LTS Enterprises & Towing, Haun Welding Supply, Fulton Spring Service, and T - W Truck Equippers in Buffalo.

"We would not be able to do this without the support of all our sponsors, especially Stadium International," said Kingsley. "We really appreciate their support."
