Butch Miller takes pole at Jennerstown.

Jennerstown, PA (June 13, 2002) - Veteran Butch Miller of Michigan tied Dick Trickle for second place on the all-time ASA list for poles earned by capturing the 45th of his career for Sunday's Pennsylvania 300 presented by Jani-King. His time of 19.145 se cs. / 98.156 mph gave him his second pole of the season in only his fourth outing in the number 04 ASI Limited entry.

"This is just a great ASA race car," said Miller. "Deon Daneau (crew chief) has done a tremendous job getting this car ready the times I've driven it and our success so far has been a big part of what he has done. All I do is sit in the car and it goes fas t."

Miller has wins at Berlin Raceway and La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway along with a podium finish at I-70 Speedway in his three starts in ASA this season.

Point's leader Joey Clanton of Georgia will start second after posting a time of 19.225 secs. / 97.748 mph. "I think this is the best car I've had at this race track in the three times I've been here," said Clanton. "We decided to pull in early during the last practice session because I knew the car was good and I didn't want to dial it out."

Mike Garvey of Atlanta, Robbie Pyle of Ohio and Dan Fredrickson of Minnesota rounded out the top-five qualifiers.

Race day activities find the spectator gates opening at 11 a.m. with the on-track fan autograph session featuring the band High Maintenance starting at noon. The Pennsylvania 300 presented by Jani-King will take the green flag at 2 p.m. (Eastern).
