DAYTONA BEACH, FL (January 26, 2007) -- Jim Duchow, 52, of Appleton, WI, has signed on with the American Speed Association Midwest Tour for the 2007 season.
"I'm looking forward to the ASA Midwest Tour because it sounds like it's reviving the old ARTGO series. Dan Devine (car owner) and I are in the twilight of our racing career and want to travel a little more. We liked the schedule and are looking forward to competing against the top drivers in the Midwest. This is going to be the premier series in the Midwest and it's going to be tough to make the show and finish races," Duchow stated.
Jim is a 25-year racing veteran who has raced primarily at the Wisconsin International Raceway (Kaukauna, WI), racking up three championships along the way. Also to his credit is winning the MARS 100 at Rockford Speedway (IL) during the National Short Track Championships in 2000.
American Speed Association Midwest Tour Vice President Steve Einhaus commented, "Duchow has been racing super late models for many years and he probably has the most laps at the tracks on the schedule then anyone else. He's always fast wherever he goes and he has a great car owner in Dan Devine that gives him every tool that he needs to win. It will be an honor to have him traveling with us this year and he'll be a force to reckon with each and every race."
Duchow is employed in law enforcement by the Outagamie Sheriff's Department and enjoys bowling in his free time.
Jim is looking forward to battling the best of the veterans and the up-and-coming stars on the traveling circuit, expressing, "I am particularly excited to race at the inaugural series opener April 28 at Elko Speedway (MN), Hawkeye Downs (Cedar Rapids, IA), and hope to do well for my hometown crowd at WIR in August."
Duchow is one of several drivers vying for a spot on the elite Touring Stars roster and explained, "It's going to be the premier traveling program available." The drivers chosen for the travel incentive program will be announced after February 1, 2007.
