Kris Stump parts with Yoder Racing

Pendleton, Ind. (November 3, 2003) - 2003 ASA Racing Series rookie Kris Stump has announced he will not be returning to Yoder Racing for the 2004 Racing Season. Stump will leave the team immediately. He finished 22nd in the final points standings after starting 15 of the 17 races in the McDonald's/Yoder Ford during the 2003 season.

"Kris was extremely excited when he signed with Noah Yoder for the 2003 season," said Kris Stump Racing spokesperson Dennis Neal. "Beginning an ASA career with a man of Noah's caliber and reputation is something any rookie would be thrilled with. Both Kris and Noah were well aware of the challenges a rookie season can present and were looking forward to meeting and overcoming those obstacles. Kris joined Yoder Racing eager to learn and perform at a level satisfactory to Noah's expectations. He leaves the team having accomplished both."

Along with the 22nd place final points finish, Stump posted a single top-10 coming at Indianapolis Raceway Park.

"This has not been an easy decision to make," said Kris Stump. "Noah (Yoder) is one of the finest men I will ever meet in racing or elsewhere and the guys on the team are just great. He never pressured me and let me progress at my own pace. Noah knew the learning curve I was facing going from racing 50-lap Late Model races at my local track to running 300-lap races where communication and strategy are the keys to winning. He and the team provided me with the support and encouragement needed for the transition and I will be forever indebted to him for that. My decision to leave the team is not based on a list of what's good or bad about the team. The truth is if there were a list, the list of what's good would be ten times as long as what is not."

The 23-year old Stump of Tipp City, Ohio is a two-time track champion at Kil Kare Speedway in his native Ohio.

"I have learned more in one ASA race than I have in the last four years, " said Stump. "That statement is a direct reflection on both Noah and the team. Wherever I go in ASA racing or in my racing career, I will always be grateful to Noah for the foundation he has given me to build on."

Yoder Racing has not yet announced a replacement for Stump in 2004. Stump is expected to announce his plans for 2004 at a later date.
