Sammy Swindell wraps up the World of Outlaws Nationals at Las Vegas Motor Speedway; Steve Drake wins dirt Late Model feature

LAS VEGAS -- Sammy Swindell of Germantown, Tenn. made his way to victory lane after the World of Outlaws A-Feature at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Friday night.

Swindell started on the pole of the 30-lap feature and led the first three laps before Jac Haudenschild made a pass for the lead. Swindell regained the lead on lap 11 and held it for the remainder of the race.

Donny Schatz finished second followed by Terry McCarl and Randy Hannagan. Joey Saldana was fifth. Steve Drake of San Luis Obispo, Calif. won the 30-lap dirt Late Models A-Feature. Drake started 17th and after battling his way to the front, passed Kelly Boen on the last lap to take the checkered flag.

Kelly Boen finished second followed by Trevor Glaser and Kellen Chadwick. Nick Perivolaris finished fifth.
