ASA Legend Butch Miller's son, Hank Miller, files an entry for the Kalamazoo 100 Presented by Tough Coat Powder Coatings.

The ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts is returning home over the Fourth of July weekend for the Mid-Michigan Doubles Weekend Presented by the Michigan Racing Scene. The first stop for the ASALMS teams will be at Kalamazoo (MI) Speedway on July 1st for the Kalamazoo 100 presented by Tough Coat Powder Coatings. While the second event of the two-day extravaganza will be the following day, Saturday July 2nd at the Calhoun County (MI) Speedway.

Entries continue to pour into the home offices in Lexington, Michigan and one driver with some solid ASA history behind him will make his first career attempt behind the wheel of an ASA Late Model Series machine. Hank Miller, the son of the legendary three-time ASA National Champion Butch Miller, looks to make his debut in a template bodied/crate engine machine this Friday night at his home track, the Kalamazoo (MI) Speedway for the Kalamazoo 100 Presented by Tough Coat Powder Coatings.

The 25-year-old Miller, currently a rookie competitor in Kalamazoo Speedway's premiere division, the wedge type, Outlaw Super Late Models division, won his first ever feature last Saturday night on the fast 3/8s mile high-banked paved oval. According to track reports, Miller executed a bold outside pass of leader; Jeff Ganus with one lap to go to capture his first career feature win in the 50-lap Wayland Chevrolet Super Late Model feature Saturday night at Kalamazoo.

The St. Joseph, Michigan Freshman sits third in the tracks rookie points chase behind current freshman leader, Steve Needles and Jerry Drake while looking at an 11th place standing in the overall points chase, just outside of the top 10 by 16 points behind Outlaw Super Late Models veteran, Phil Massuch.

For his ASALMS debut, Miller will pilot the #80 machine normally driven by Tony D'Ambrose. Miller will drive the Chevrolet Monte Carlo in a one race deal for the night for D'Ambrose, who will haul his Tech One Race Cars, Schmehl Racing Enterprises, Butlerbuilt Motorsports, Pool Signs, Sliq Riq Hair Salon, Pro Blend Motorsports, T-1 Racing entry from Tinley Park, Illinois in hopes that the younger Miller can give the Illini State owner for the night, a great 31st birthday present heading into day two of the Mid-Michigan Doubles Weekend Presented by the Michigan Racing Scene.

Ironically, Miller's Dad, the legendary Butch Miller, has indicated he will make his ASA Late Model Series debut later in the season at the Indianapolis (IN) Raceway Park in Clermont, Indiana for the A.S.I. Limited 100 Presented by Howe Racing Enterprises on Saturday July 30th.

Butch is a three-time ASA National Champion which ranks him tied for second-most in ASA National tour history with NASCAR Cup driver Mark Martin. Mike Eddy is the all-time series championship title holder with seven championships! Miller also ranks in the top three all-time on the old ASA National tour in wins, victories, poles, and all-time laps led list.

This is the biggest two-day event the state of Michigan has seen in several seasons! You won't want to miss over 40 of the finest drivers in the country as the cars and stars of the ASA Late Model Series come home for the Fourth of July weekend in their only Michigan appearances of the 2005 season! The Mid-Michigan Double Weekend Presented by the Michigan Racing Scene is next for the ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts. Friday July 1st will be the Kalamazoo 100 Presented by Tough Coat Powder Coatings at the Kalamazoo (MI) Speedway in Alamo, Michigan. Then the next day, Saturday July 2nd, it will be the Snap-On Tools 100 Presented by Lane Automotive and Q106fm at the Calhoun County (MI) Speedway in Springport, Michigan.
