ASA Late Model Series signs GM Performance Parts as the series presenting sponsor.
LEXINGTON, MI ASA Late Model Series Officials have announced that GM Performance Parts will be the presenting sponsor of the series. The series will be known as the ASA Late Model Series presented by GM Performance Parts. GM Performance Parts will also have the naming rights to the newly announced B-Main and the Winner's Circle Program, which will be the GM Performance Parts Shootout and The GM Performance Parts Winner's Circle Program, respectfully.
"To have a company the size of GM want to be involved with this series shows their commitment to short track grassroots racing. I have been a crate motor supporter from the beginning and will continue to do so," stated Series President Ron Varney.
The GM Performance Parts Shootout will be a 25 lap feature for all cars not qualifying for the 100 lap main event. The GM Performance Parts Winner's Circle Program will reward drivers based on attendance. The program will have 3 levels, based on 100%, 80% and 50% participation throughout the season." It was important to us that GM Performance Parts reached out to all the teams," said Bill Martens the Special Programs Manager of GM Performance Parts. "This is a great way for us to give back to the racers that have supported our Crate Engine Program over the years."
GM Performance Parts and the series share a solid history. Ron Varney, series owner of the ASA Late Model Series began working with GM back in 2002 when he developed the USPRO Racing series which has now evolved into the ASA Late Model Series it is today. "GM was always right there for us, no matter what we needed all we ever had to do was pick up the phone" commented Varney. "Our teams really appreciate GM's participation in the 2005 Program."
