Tony D'Ambrose stepping up to the challenge for the Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year title in 2005.

The battle for the 2005 Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year title chase continues to draw in entries from all over the Midwest United States. Tony D'Ambrose is no exception as he has indicated that his T-1 Racing Team will run the full season in hopes of capturing the Rookie title for 2005 in the ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts..

"We're on a tight budget and will go from race to race but our plans are to run the full season for the Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie crown." Said the Tinley Park, Illinois driver. 20 miles South of Chicago. "If some things go wrong, then we'll re-evaluate our situation. But for now, one race at a time. We can't have what happened at IRP last season, we destroyed our whole operation, good equipment, a brand new car all gone in the last chance race there and we are still recovering from that!" Continued D'Ambrose. We want to make the shows and finish races first, to us that'll be a win! Finishes are our number one priority." Said D'Ambrose.

Tony started racing in 1987 at 13 years old in Go-Karts. The 30 -year-old driver recorded two championships in Karts. D'Ambrose began full bodied stock car racing in 1993, and has raced everything from Dwarf Cars to Mid-American Stock Cars and Late Models. Tony has won one rookie of the year title and has had many top ten finishes throughout his racing career. Most of his time has been spent at Grundy County (IL) Speedway and Illiana (IN) Motor Speedway.

As for the 2005 schedule, Tony is very optimistic; "As far as the tracks on the schedule go, Rockford is closest to home, my team is fired up for that, but Illiana though is my home track that's on the schedule, most of my experience has came there, all my friends and family will be at that one." Added D'Ambrose. "I'm looking forward to going to all of the tracks on the schedule. I've also been to LaCrosse and of course those 17 laps at IRP" Laughed Tony. "But I-70, Jennerstown, some of those tracks I've never been too, but I've heard about them." Especially I-70, I know that place is notorious for eating cars, but I can't wait for that show!" He ended.

For the 2005 ASA Late Model Series season, D"Ambrose will be piloting a Tech-One Race Cars Chevrolet Monte Carlo and will be running for the Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year championship. Tony will also carry sponsorship from Schmehl Racing Enterprises, Butlerbuilt Motorsports, Rodman's Visuals, Pool Signs, Sliq Riq Hair Salon, and Pro Blend Motorsports.
