SUSSEX, Wisc. - Mark E. Dismore and his No. 44 Monster.com/WorldBestBuy.com Chevrolet Monte Carlo are set to compete in Saturday's running of the ASA ACDelco Series' "Jani-King 300" at the historic Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, N.C. With two races under his belt in the stock car series driving for Herzog Motorsports, Dismore is continuing to gain experience on the track.

Coming off two top-15 finishes in the first two races, Dismore wants to raise the mark. "I want to get some points or at least a lot more of them," Dismore said. "I'd like to come out of Hickory with a top-10 finish. It's going to be hard to stay out of wrecks, so I hope our luck doesn't run out. We've been able to stay out of most of the messes. I'm still trying to figure everything out. This is such a different deal than what I am used to. I have to be more aggressive and learn how to get in the corners deeper."

Dismore doesn't enter the "Jani-King 300" blind; he tested at the track back in February. "I at least have some experience at the track. The test was mainly for me to get comfortable with the car, so I didn't push it a whole lot. The track is tight, so I figure there will be plenty of incidents, but not as many as Lanier. It's going to be warmer down there, so there will be more grip and shouldn't be as much slipping."

Dismore is more encouraged about this weekend's event because of who plans to keep him out of trouble. Jimmie Johnson, Herzog Motorsports' NASCAR Busch Series driver, will be spotting for Dismore. "Jimmie spotted for me at Lakeland and did a great job," Dismore said. "Howie (Lettow, crew chief) joked with him that if he couldn't cut it as a driver, he could surely find a job spotting. He was that good. I look forward to having Jimmie back up top, assisting Keith (Busekros, regular spotter) and guiding me around."

The "Jani-King 300" will start at 1 p.m. E.S.T. at the Hickory Motor Speedway. TNN Sports will carry the live broadcast of the ASA ACDelco Series' third stop on the 2000 schedule.
