Reid Millard Latemodel Racer from Jefferson City Missouri Injured
Friday night at LA Raceway in La Monte, Missouri during the running of the first ever O'Reilly MLRA Latemodel event during the heat races, the #14M of Reid Millard had a car spinout in front of him and collect the # 14M causing him to flip the Latemodel.
"Reid is a good competitor and was sorting out the field of cars when another spun and he had no where to go" stated Alan "Cowboy" Chancellor of the MLRA. "He whacked his head and the Helmet did crack" Chancellor concluded.
Reid Millard was Life Flighted out of the Speedway and taken to Kansas City's St.Lukes Hospital. They have a Trauma Unit and that was the quickest way to transport - not that it was life-threatening.
"Due to the Privacy Act I had to wait to contact either Relatives or Reid at the Hospital to release any information that is why the delay" stated Pattie Frost of the MLRA.
"I spoke to Reid Millard this morning (Saturday at 9:30am) from the Hospital and asked if it was OK to post what we knew so far." Stated Frost. "Reid said yes, due to the Privacy Act" Frost concluded.
"Pattie, I'm in extreme pain, I'm positioned on the bed to where I cannot move, extreme pain." I asked if he knew what they were going to do and he stated that they were going to do a battery of tests this morning some time and hope to know something later today.
So, this is what we know at the present time -- he whacked the helmet good and cracked it (don't know the brand). He was able to move arms and hands and complained at the track of soreness in the neck and tingling in the legs and feet.
Adrian's race for the 2nd Annual Al Bodenhamer Memorial was postponed until Wednesday night Oct 6 giving the KC area quite a weekend......
