MOYER WINS MLRA RACE AT GRANITE CITY: Billy Moyer beat Terry Phillips in a race between the winningest Midwest LateModel Racing Association drivers of all time, collecting $3,000 for a 50-lap MLRA victory at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill. The first two finishers both drove the yellow No. 21s owned by Ed Petroff. Ed Dixon ran second much of the race but engine problems forced him to drop back and he finished fourth, just nipping Terry Muskrat at the finish line. Moyer (22.894 seconds) was the fast qualifier among 32 late models in the first MLRA visit to the half-mile oval since 1991. POCHE GETS RAIN-DELAYED SUPR WIN AT BATESVILLE: Ronnie Poche won his third Southern United Professional Racing series event of the year, pocketing $2,000 for a 40-lap feature victory at Batesville (Ark.) Speedway. The race was originally scheduled for Friday but rained out. Local driver Stan Lewis was an impressive second against a tough field while Steve Russell came from his 10th-starting position to finish third. There were 34 cars on hand. BARNHART GETS SUPR VICTORY AT LITTLE ROCK: Donnie Barnhart took the lead from Mike Bowers on the 15th lap after a duel between North Little Rock, Ark., drivers and went on to a $2,000 SUPR victory at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock. Barnhart, who won on the last series trip to I-30 in 1995, recorded his first SUPR victory since Aug. 11, 1995. Barnhart was the fast qualifier among 43 entries.
