American Speed Association Enrolls Kelly for Midwest Tour

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (January 27, 2007) -- Kris Kelly of Norway, MI, has signed on with the American Speed Association Midwest Tour presented by Echo for the 2007 season.

"As a second generation driver, running this series will be an honor. I enjoyed when my father Mike ran the ARTGO series back in the 80s against Trickle, Shear, Martin, and many more legends," Kelly expressed.

Kris has been racing late models since 2000 but started his career back in 1990 with go-kart racing. In 1996 he moved into the Street Stock division at Norway Speedway (MI) and scored Rookie of the Year honors with second place in the championship standings. "For the next three years we achieved three street stock championships being the first team to ever accomplish this feat in this competitive level of racing," explained brother and crew chief Toby Kelly.

Kelly's team, T-K Motorsports is headquartered in Norway with a support team in Appleton, WI near Wisconsin International Raceway (Kaukauna, WI) where the Kris often tests and competes. The team has one super late model and two limited late models. Every year since 2000 the team has traveled more and packed their schedule tighter, recording 2006 championship standings in fourth place at Norway Speedway, fourth place in the Big 8 Series, and 5th place at Slinger Speedway (WI). "Each year we redefine our goals and for the 2007 racing season our goal is to finish in the top 10 in points in the ASA Midwest Tour and also to claim a top three points finish in the Big 8 Series," Toby defined.

American Speed Association Midwest Tour Vice President Steve Einhaus commented, "Kris is a powerhouse wherever he goes. His team travels all over the upper Midwest week in and week out and dominates. He is fun to watch drive because he is such a strong competitor and is a great fit for the Tour."

T-K Motorsports will make its American Speed Association Midwest Tour debut at the inaugural season opener April 28, 2007 at Elko Speedway (MN). "There are a handful of tracks on the schedule we haven't seen yet, but with my brother Toby as my crew chief and the crew that we have I have a strong feeling we'll adapt quickly," said Kris confidently.
