Four Straight For Brightbill At New Egypt New Egypt, NJ (June 19) -- Sinking Spring, PA's Kenny Brightbill kept his white-hot streak alive on Saturday night, winning his fourth straight Modified feature event at the New Egypt Speedway.

"I want to thank all of my sponsors," Brightbill told the crowd. "Rick (Grosso) is doing a heck of a job with the track. You can really race on it."

Johnny Leach took control of the main from his pole starting spot when the first caution waved on the second go-round when Gary Butler stopped in turn #4. Leach remained on top on the restart with Gary Velenger in pursuit. The early goings found Kenny Brightbill making his way through the field from 18th when the caution lights blinked on at the lap 9 mark with Larry McVay and Mike Hendershot tangled on the backstretch and Tim Tanner Jr. making contact with the third turn wall. Under caution, Billy Pauch made his way to the pits. Pauch did return to action briefly but ultimately retired with power steering trouble. Leach remained out front on the green with Brightbill quickly making his way into second. Lap 11 saw Brightbill's inside run in turn #4 put him in charge and Roger Laureno made his presence known, challenging Leach for second. Laureno took over the second spot at the halfway mark but Brightbill was clearly in command. Lap 22 found the caution flags waving for Jerry Glenn. Although two additional cautions closed the field on Brightbill, he remained on top to the checker for his sixth win of the '99 season. Trailing Brightbill were Laureno, Leach, Eddie Cranmer and Scott VanGorder.

Scoring his first checker of the season in the Sportsman main was East Windsor, NJ's Larry Archer, who started 7th and took the lead on lap 6. Archer held off the late race charges of Jim Dallett to take the win. "This Edison Generator car was on a rail tonight," commented Archer. Behind Archer and Dallett at the finish were George Gareis, Rocco Infante and Bob Worthington.

Flemington, NJ's Billy Bauer captured his second win of the season in the Street Stock feature event. Bauer, who started 16th, was out front on lap 7 after wrestling the lead from Dale Haines. "I could never do this without Larry McVay," Bauer said, acknowledging the help he received from McVay, the Tanner family and Matt Papiez in repairing his wrecked car a couple weeks back. Behind Bauer at the checker were Pat Conaway, Ralph Gargiulo, Haines and Jeff Carpenter.

Larry Archer took home $225 in the Sportsman Dash For Cash. The night's 50/50 was worth $2,023.50 to one lucky fan.

Next Saturday, June 26th, the fast and furious action continues for the Modifieds, Sportsman and Street Stocks on Advantage Financial Night with a mountain of giveaways for the fans.
