New Egypt, NJ (Aug. 2) -- Billy Pauch showed the rest of the big boys why he's "the man" this season at New Egypt Speedway, as he locked into the top six time trialers, handily won the Cash Dash, and walked away with Pepsi's Advance Auto Parts Super DIRT Series 100 on Wednesday evening.

"My crew really worked hard to keep the money at home," said Pauch, who collected $6,250 for his night's efforts in the single-division midweek special.

Lining up on the pole by luck of the draw, Tim McCreadie quickly took charge at the drop of the green flag with Jimmy Chester and Pauch giving chase. Chester got past McCreadie early with Pauch working his way into second, setting his sights on the leader. Pauch's inside charge on lap 7 put him in command with McCreadie in tow. Before 20 laps were complete, Pauch was already working slow traffic both high and low around the speedway. Several cautions closed the field on the New Egypt's 1999 Modified track champ but he held tough. On lap 22 Brightbill made a move on the inside of McCreadie to take over the runner-up spot. Pauch now held a near straightaway advantage on Brightbill who had Doug Hoffman closing in, looking for a shot at the win. Lap after lap, Pauch raced through traffic, several times escaping close calls while holding a lead on Brightbill. In the latter stages of the extra-distance event, Hoffman ran the inside of turns 3 and 4 to move into second. A 10-to-go caution when Tim Tanner Jr. slammed the third turn wall put Hoffman right behind Pauch for the restart; however, Pauch dusted the field on the green and cruised in for his 11th win of the year. Chasing Pauch to the line were Hoffman, Brightbill, Steve Paine and McCreadie. Danny Johnson, Jimmy Horton, Chuck Bower, Vic Coffey and Keith Hoffman completed the top ten.

The JE Pistons $100 award for fast time went to Kenny Brightbill, with a lap of 15.406. Billy Pauch won $250 in the Exiss Trailers Dash. The Bert Hard Charger Award went to Danny Johnson, who came from 28th to sixth.

Drivers and fans pitched in to raise over $2,700 for the Olivia Tremont Fund, to help with medical bills for a heart-lung transplant for New York driver Ken Tremont's adopted daughter. Two lucky fans got the thrill of their lives, winning five laps around the track with Billy Pauch, in his two-seater Late-Model. A raffle winner took home a 50-inch television. And Pepsi flooded the grandstands with giveaways, including duffel bags, T shirts, tote bags and lunch boxes.

This Saturday, August 5, Cream Ridge Golf Club presents Banner Night at New Egypt Speedway, featuring a bill of Modifieds, Sportsman and Street Stocks, a golf-themed night of fun and prizes for the fans, and a Hole-In-One putting contest for the drivers. Adult admission is $12, children 7-12 are $4, and kids 6 and under are free. For more information, call the track office at (609) 758-1900.
