CHAMPIONS CROWNED AT NEW SMYRNA SPEEDWAY

Samsula, Fla. (November 12, 2005) The end of the season and points at New Smyrna Speedway proved to be a wild and crazy night. With almost a full moon overhead, it was hard to determine if it was the full moon or just the last night of points racing.

A few new faces were seen in the Late Model division which had not been seen for quite awhile - Chad Allman and Chris Lawrence. Although Lawrence did not have a very good night, it was nice to see him back at the speedway. Alan Bruns and Dewayne Barrus won the heat races but it was Rusty Ebersole who topped the feature. After an accident that took out Alli Owens, Darren Brown, Dewayne Barrus and Chris Lawrence, it was clear sailing for Ebersole in the #23 Late Model. Following Ebersole to the checkered was Chad Allman, Alan Bruns, Jeremy Fitch (the 2005 Late Model Champion at New Smyrna), and Brian Bellaw.

Jeremy Fitch played double duty as he wheeled the No. 00 for the very first time was Ron Dubeau who has been racing in the Pro Truck weekly races this year. Following Symons to the checkered was Jared Allison, Bobby Blake, Jeremy Fitch and newcomer Russ Antonucci. Tank Tucker is the 2005 Open Wheel Modified Champion at New Smyrna.

The Sportsman race saw alot of wild action. Jim Snyder won the heat race but saw his motor blow up in the feature. Returning this year for the last race of the season was Earl Beckner who proved that he still had the magic and won the feature race. Dale Howard to the lead on the green but Beckner was able to take over with Howard crossing second in the feature. Mike Soukup, Ron Lufcy, and Travis Towell completed the top five. Donny Williams once again topped the points and is the 2005 Sportsman Champion.

Newcomer Paul Harraka won the Pro Truck heat but it was Dalton Zehr in the #5 who topped the feature in spite of the hard charge he received from young Chad Akins. Akins has proved his driving ability with the "big boy". Akins crossed the finish line second followed by Brandon Johnson, Tim Gertsch (who comes from the Quarter Midgets into trucks), and Bill Stacy.Scott Reeves is the 2005 Pro Truck Weekly Champion at New Smyrna.

A record number of Mini Stocks were present as some came to practice for next week's Florida Mini Stock Challenge 100 Championship race that runs after the Governor's Cup 200. Cody Blair and Clint Foley won the heat races but it was his second win in a row for Cody Blair. Steven Simpson gave it a gallent try but was unable to pass Blair for the win and had to settle for second. Pat Wells, Pedie Allison and Clint Foley completed the top five. Ted Vulpius has taken yet another Champsionship and claimed the 2005 honor.

Jason Foster and James Frisbie topped the heat races for the Super Stock as Foster and Pat Buckley were in the tightest race of the evening for points Champion. Foster had some bad luck losing his axle and it was Buckley who won the Championship but Ron Whaley who crossed the checkered first for the win. Following Whaley to the checkered was George Spears, Gene Vitiello, James Frisbie, and Pat Buckley.

Not only did Ray Tanguay win the last race of the points season but also claimed the Championship in the Strictly Stock division. Following Tanguay to the checkered was Tim Logue, Alvin Morris, Kerry Payne, and Dave Werning.
