Valdosta, Ga. - Rain showers, impending Thunderstorms and heavy rain associated with a major winter storm forced the postponement of the Hangover 100 at Thunderbowl Speedway, Valdosta, Ga. The National Late Model Sportsman Series event will be completed on Saturday, January 16th.
Prior to the storm related postponement, Skip Pannell of Albany, Ga in the Southway Industrial Services sponsored Chevrolet set the fast time in qualifying and then won his heat race to grab the pole for the $5,000-to-win event. Gene Maine, Wesley Hood and Tracy Mimbs won the other three heat races.
With 16 cars already locked into the starting field, the event will begin with two consolation races to complete the 24 car starting lineup and then the 100 lap Hangover 100 will take the green flag. There will also be action in the Hobby Stocks, Pure Stock and the newest division at Thunderbowl, the Mini Stocks. Gates will open at 3:00 PM on Saturday January 16th with hot laps scheduled for 5:00 PM and racing action getting underway at 7:00 PM.
