Innisfil karting star joins Ontario Pro Challenge Series for 2005
INNISFIL, ONTARIO Holgate Motorsports announced today that they will enter Holgate Motorsports driver Brad LeLiever in the 2005 Ontario Pro Challenge Series. LeLiever will drive the #81 Barrie Honda / Georgian Pontiac Buick / CRS Contractors Supply Ltd Chevy Monte Carlo.
"This is a great opportunity," LeLiever said after taking delivery of his Barrie Honda / Georgian Pontiac Buick / CRS Contractors Supply Ltd. Monte Carlo on Saturday. "Greg Johnston of Barrie Honda has been a sponsor of mine for the past seven years, and for him to join with us on this program is fantastic. I am also really happy to have Georgian Pontiac Buick sponsorship, thanks to Jamie Massie. CRS Contractors Supply Ltd. are also on board for 2005, so now we have the car, the team and the sponsorship we're ready."
LeLiever has a strong background in both F-1200 (formula car) racing and karting, but he is confident that he can wheel his 140hp, Nextel Cup styled, three quarter scale car to competitive finishes next year. "The cars are really good looking the sponsors love them," LeLiever said. "I filled in for CARSTAR Monte Carlo driver Russ Bond last year, when he was injured and I knew after that experience that I wanted to race in the Ontario Pro Challenge series in 2005. I think the series is one of the best run in Ontario, it's really fan and sponsor friendly."
Team Principal John Holgate is happy with the way the #81 Barrie Honda / Georgian Pontiac Buick / CRS Contractors Supply Ltd. Monte Carlo program has come together. "This is a big step for us and our sponsors," Holgate said. "I am extremely pleased by the response we received from Greg Johnston at Barrie Honda, Jamie Massie from Georgian Pontiac Buick and Dean Bell of CRS Contractors Supply Ltd. Now we will be able to race in our sponsors 'back yard' several times during the year."
Ontario Pro Challenge Series coordinator Kathy Nicholson is excited to have Holgate Motorsports join the series that will start its fourth year of competition in 2005. "Brad did a great job filling in for one of our regular drivers last year," Nicholson said. "It will be great to see him in the series full time in 2005."
