SAUBLE BEACH, ONTARIO - Uxbridge Ontario Pro Challenge Series driver Russ Bond was back behind the wheel of the CARSTAR Monte Carlo on Saturday nIght, at Sauble Beach Speedway after taking a one race hiatus for an injury. "It is really good to be back behind the wheel," Bond said. "I can tell you watching the CARSTAR Monte Carlo being driven by Brad last race was nearly as painful as falling off that trailer. Don't get me wrong, Brad did a great job, but a driver watching his own car on the track is painful."

Bond started the night with a second place finish in heat one. Then in heat two, he slipped back to fifth. "The doctor says I'm okay to race, not okay to crash, so I tried to stay out of trouble and bring it back in one piece."

For the feature, Bond lined up fourth and moved up to third at the start. "Mike [Goodyear] told me on the radio that Thane was all over me, but I had nothing for him. He blew by me, so I just had to wait and see what happened." Woodside motored forward, but the CARSTAR Monte Carlo stayed in touch. "At the mid point of the feature, I thought I was catching the top three, but I wasn't sure I could do anything with them even if I got there."

In the end, Bond settled for a fourth place finish, that moved him back up to sixth in the points standings. "It was good for my first night back. Mark Jonak, Mike Dion and Goodyear all did a great job to help keep the CARSTAR Monte Carlo near the front. But for some reason, they wouldn't let me help put it back on the trailer..."
