UMP Summernationals Return To PIR After taking this Saturday off, racing returns to the high banks of Paducah International Raceway this Friday, August 6, with the UMP Summernationals headlining the evenings' program. The winner of the 50-lap UMP late model feature event will win $8,000. The race was originally scheduled for July1, but persistent rains forced cancellation of the program. UMP Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Street Stocks, Classic Coupes, and Two-person Cruisers will share the program with the Summernationals. Among drivers expected at PIR will be recent "USA World 40" winner Billy Drake, of Bloomington, IL, and defending race champion Donnie Barnhart of Little Rock, AR. The PIR track will also be running on Friday, August 13, with a regular program consisting of UMP Late Models, UMP Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Street Stocks, Classic Coupes, and Cruisers. The track will return to its normal Saturday night schedule on August 21, with a regular show, followed by a $2,000 to-win UMP Late Model "Terry Egner Memorial" on August 28.
