Potomac Speedway will host its 2000 Awards Banquet on Saturday, November 18, at the Mechanicsville Firehouse in Mechanicsville, MD. Socializing will begin at 6:00pm with a buffet dinner catered by Bailey's Catering beginning at 6:30pm. Awards and dancing to D. J. Brown Production will continue until 1:00am.

The top ten point finishers in each main division will be honored. The top five Bombers will also be honored along with the top three winners in the ITSI New Millennium Super Late Model Series. Other awards, such as, Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Driver; Best Effort, Hard Luck, and Sportsmanship will also be handed out in each division. The Rookie of the Year recognizes a driver who does an impressive job in his first full year of racing. Most Improved Driver is awarded to the driver who has most improved his/her racing skill techniques from the previous year. Best Effort is presented to the driver who finishes the highest in points, but does not win a feature event. Hard Luck goes to someone who just seemed to suffer mishap after mishap during the racing season. The Sportsmanship Award takes into consideration not only the attitude of the driver toward the sport, but also his attitude toward his fellow competitors and the overall display of sportsmanship through the driver's race team.

Along with recognizing its' drivers, Potomac Speedway will also honor the 2000 season sponsors. On hand should be Guy Distributors, sponsor of the Late Model division; Bell Motor Company, sponsor of the Semi Late class; Bozick Distributors, sponsor of the Coors Light Pure Street Stocks; Mac Tools sponsor of the 4 Cylinder division; Gardiner Outdoor Products, sponsor of the Enduro Stock division; Chesapeake Web Design, sponsor of the Bomber division and ITSI, sponsor of the special 10 race new millennium Super Late Model Series.
