Ryan Moore White Mountain race summary

Strong showing for Ryan Moore at White Mountain Motorsports Park.

North Woodstock, NH -- ACT Dodge Tour rookie contender Ryan Moore rebounded from a string of bad luck last weekend at Monadnock Speedway to finish third in the Country Pools, Spas and Billiards 100 at White Mountain Motorsports Park. For the first time this season, Moore led an ACT Dodge Tour event and was a factor throughout the event. On the eve of his high school graduation, Moore enjoyed the best performance of his rookie season.

"We were off quite a bit when we got here," said Moore. "We've run this track a few times in the past and have always been pretty quick. I like running the track and the Snyder's of Hanover/RC Moore team made all the right adjustments today."

Moore posted a fifth place finish in the third heat, which earned him a starting spot in the feature event. The ACT Dodge Tour utilizes a unique scoring and handicapping system, and after all the pre-feature heat, semi and 'b' main races were run; Moore found himself sitting third on the grid for the feature.

In the feature event, the 2002 ACT Dodge Tour rookie contender darted past Herb Drugg and took over the second spot on lap one. Within a few laps, Moore's Chevrolet Monte Carlo was on the bumper of race leader Steve Fisher, awaiting the right opportunity to lead his first lap of the season.

Before lap 50, Moore alerted his crew that the car was starting to get loose. Behind him, Patrick Laperle was on the move and took the top spot from Moore. "Our car was just awesome during the first fifty laps," said Moore. "The car got really loose a lot sooner then we thought it would."

Jean-Paul Cyr slipped by Moore with less than 25 laps to go, but Moore held onto the third spot, posting his best finish of the season. "The crew worked really hard all day, we made some good decisions and this week didn't have any bad luck," Moore said. "We've got something to build on with this good finish and I'm really looking forward to going back to Canaan Speedway in a couple of weeks."

Canaan is another track where Moore has had success in recent years and with the strong effort the team displayed this weekend, they look forward to the challenge.
