Oswego, NY - The ISMA Lucas Oil Super Series took two weeks off after the grinding Star Classic 200 and will now make a return visit to Seekonk Speedway on Saturday, September 27. One thing will be distinctly different for the winged warriors this trip - this time the race has a 6 pm start. All of the previous super shows at that third-mile oval have been during the afternoon, so night running will be a new entity. In May of this year, Bentley Warren came home the winner of the Sunday afternoon event. Past ISMA Lucas Oil winners at the "Cement Palace" have included Lou Cicconi and Chris Perley, with rain shutting down one of the scheduled events in 2002.

Well, hold on to your hats folks, as this one coming up should be a barnburner. The ISMA Lucas Oil point chase has been between Chris Perley and Russ Wood for most of the season and now, with Perley on top, the gap is only seven markers with only Seekonk and Thompson to go. Perley has finished second to Wood in the points in 2002 with three features to his credit and was second to that Pelham, NH driver again in 1996. Chris would certainly prefer to switch positions in 2003! For that Rowley, MA driver it would be a first-time title win and a first time win for veteran car owner Vic Miller. But then, Russ wouldn't mind another top place spot either. A title win in 2003 for Russ Wood would be a record seventh and would give car owner Paul Dunigan an unprecedented eighth title with three different drivers. Chasing Perley and Wood are Greg Furlong, Randy Ritskes, Pat Abold, Dave McKnight, Bobby Santos III, Nokie Fornoro, Jim Shirey and John Payne. While Furlong sits 62 points away from Perley, Ritskes only sits 6 markers off Greg's third place and a tie exists for tenth between John Payne and Mark Sammut. So there is still racing and point getting before the season closes at Thompson (CT) World Series of Racing on October 18-19.

At Seekonk, the pit gates swing open at 2:30 pm with warm-ups at 4:00 pm and the first heat getting underway at 6:00 pm. ISMA runs in combination with Seekonk's All Star Truck Series, a SYRA Special and Special Spectator Drags. The ISMA Lucas Oil main event is 75 laps and pays $3,200 to win. Seekonk is located on Fall River Avenue, in Seekonk, MA, just off Rt. 95. Phone 508-336-9959 or go to www.seekonkspeedway.com for info and you can save $5 off your ticket prices by ordering online!

Just a reminder also that the annual ISMA Awards Banquet is being held on November 8 at the beautiful Turning Stone Casino in Vernon, NY. Get your tickets and motel reservations in soon for this exciting wrap up of the season. Call 315-635-7487 or write ISMA, PO Box 2753, Liverpool, NY 13089 for information.
