New England Super-Modified Drivers Will Try To Dominate Seekonk Speedway's ISMA Super Modified Race On Sunday, May 6

SEEKONK, MASS. Scott Martel of Ipswich, Mass., Howie Lane of Essex, Mass., Mike Ordway of Fremont, NH, Chris Perley of Amesbury, Mass., Brian West of Dunstable, Mass., Brian Wood and Russ Wood, both of Pelham, NH plus Joey Payne, driving for car owner Doug Boisvert of Manchester, NH are expected for the ISMA Super Modified race that will open the 2001 racing season at the Seekonk Speedway set for Sunday, May 6. Those drivers will take on a strong group of central NY, Canadian and mid-west Super Mod pilots when the winged open wheeler's make their return visit to the third-mile oval in southern Mass., for the first time since 1996.

Mike Ordway of Fremont, NH, winner of the '96 ISMA race at Seekonk, will be back in the Clyde Booth car to defend his title. Among the other challengers to the New Englanders will be defending ISMA champ Joe Gosek, along with the Wood brothers all driving the three Paul Dunigan Team cars out of Lowell, Mass. They will be joined by Dave McKnight, Jr. of Ontario, Lou Cicconi and Niki Fornoro, among others. A full field of ISMA's stars and cars are expected to take in the ISMA Bay State opener at the Route 6 oval.

Those open-wheel race cars are the top division at the 2001 opener at the Route 6 oval. Plus five support classes are on the card set Sunday afternoon, May 6. Those include the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series Pro Stocks, Sportsman, Street Stocks, Sport 4 Trucks and Formula 4's. Also, the new Seekonk Youth Racing Association.
