Bright Wins His First, Miller Captures Wingless 270 event.

Alex Bright of Collegeville, PA. won his first Micro 600 feature. The young and talented driver took command on the opening lap, and was able to pull away to a five car length victory.  Starting on the point,  Bright quickly jumped in front. A tangle on the front strech on the opening lap sent Drew Heistand to the rear and Rick Brehm, making his first start in the 600's to the pits. On the restart, Bright pulled away and had opened up a 10 car length lead, but that got wiped out with a tangle involving Kevin Lamphere and Heistand.  On the restart, Bright was able to open up a 5 car lenght advantage,
and held that for the victory. Second place went to Dusty Foust, who battled both Jim Dawson and Steve Dull.  Dawson settled for third, followed by Dull, and Dustin Sheffield. Sixth thru tenth were Lamphere,  Dan Kanagy, Ron May, Heistand, and Gary Cramer.  Heats went to Foust and Dull.

In the wingless 270 event, it was Hershey, Pa's Greg Miller besting Lin Bowie in a caution filled event. Miller, who started third, took the lead on lap 8 and was able to hold off Bowie. Rick Brehm, who was involved in a earlier incident that sent him to the rear, came roaring back to finish a strong 3rd. Fourth went to B.J. Brehm, and Mike Holley completed the top five. Sixth thru tenth went to Todd Miller, Eric Walls, Todd Roberson, Pat Milikowski and John Baker.

In other action, it was local driver Jeremy Ott taking his first win of the year in the Thunder Division. Ott, who started ninth, worked his way thru traffic and took command on lap 11 from early race leader Travis Heckman. Once in front, he was able to hold off Jason Jumper, who had a great drive to finish second. Third went to Chris Smith, while R.T. Bulger finished fourth, and Heckman completed the top five. Sixth thru tenth were Russ Clavey, Rick Ruhl, Don Stoudt, Carl Rowe, and Anthony Adams.

In the Modified Lite Division, it was Todd Rahley winning his first of the year. Rahley who hails from York, PA. started upfront and took command from the start. Once in front, he was able to hold off a fast closing Eddie Benedict. . Benedict, who battled both Josh Sigman and Carl Copsey took over the runner up spot on lap 18, but the laps ran out before he could make a challenge for the win. Third went to Copsey, while Sigman finished fourth and Gary Funck finished fifth.They were follwed by Todd Tasker and Jimmy Foard. The heat went to Rahley.

The Mini Stock feature was won by Shippensburg's Larry Stine. Stine, who started seventh was very patient working his way thru the field. He took over second from Bryan Michael on lap 12 and set his sights on race leader Charles Wengerd. Stine pulled alongside on the backstech on lap 17 and took command. He opened up a five car lenght lead and that was the margain at the line. Second went to Wengerd. Third was captured by Michael, and Bryan Neff and Mark Lenker completed the top five. Sixth thru tenth were Mike Kershner, Dave Thomas,Rich Newcomer, Mike Crate, and Bill Bass. Racing returns to the Cumberland Valley oval next Saturday nite.
