Susquehanna 200 Enduro Cancelled at the Susquehanna Speedway Park
NEWBERRYTOWN, PA (February 22, 2005) -- The Susquehanna 200 Enduro race originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon, March 12 at the Susquehanna Speedway Park has been cancelled in order to fully prepare the facility for the Thursday, April 14 points season opener featuring the Sprint Cars, Xtreme Stock Cars and Legends Cars. The Trail Motors Super Sportman and Street Stocks kick off their season on Sunday night, May 29. Gates will open for both the pit area and grandstand gates at 5:00 p.m. in 2005. Warmups begin at 6:30 p.m. with racing action beginning at 7:30 p.m. Race fans can continue to expect a fast paced 2 0x00bd hour program each and every night. Grandstand ticket prices remain the same as 2004 at Adults (18 & older) $12.00; Teens (13-17) $8.00; Children (6-12) $4.00; and Children (5 & under) are free. Pit pass prices are $20.00 with a reduced price of $18.00 for all pit competitor license holders. Prices will be slightly higher for special events.
During the off season, a 250 seat grandstand is being erected in the turn one pit area, more clay has been added to the track and the public address system will be upgraded and rewired by SABKO Enterprises. Speakers will also be added to the infield and turn one pit areas. A drainage system has also been added to the infield in order to reduce the water that accumulates to the inside of the front stretch and the entrance and exit of turns one and four.
An open practice and media night is scheduled for Sunday night, April 10 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the gates opening at 5:00 p.m. All pit passes for drivers, crew and anyone entering the pits will be $10.00. There will be no charge for the grandstands. Ay fullsize type of racecar (whether or not they are not he 2005 SSP schedule) is welcome as well as scheduled divisions such as Legends Cars and four cylinders.
The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles NW on SR382 to York Road, then 1.3 miles south. The speedway website is located at www.sspracing.net.
