Marshall, WI (May 11, 2004) -- At about 11 pm on Saturday night, it finally hit 25-year-old Todd Kluever; the night is not over. Kluever climbed out of his ASA Late Model after finishing third and took pictures on the front-stretch alongside of defending NASCAR Nextel Cup Champion Matt Kenseth. After that, Kluever and his team loaded the car up and the he went on to his next task... tending to one of his personal businesses, his tavern just outside of Madison in Deerfield, WI.

"Most drivers get to go home and relax after a race... I have to go to work," joked Kluever, owner of Nora's Two (tavern), on Saturday night.

It was the end of a long couple of days for Kluever that started on Thursday when his TK2 team headed out the door for the inaugural ASA event at Kentucky Speedway. After a full day at the track on Friday night, where Kluever finished in the top-20 (official results were not available from ASA due to a technical glitch at the track), Kluever and the team packed everything back up and hit the road for an overnight drive back to Wisconsin. On Saturday, he competed in the inaugural ASA Late Model Series event at Madison International Speedway.

"It was a pretty long weekend and I am really tired right about now," Kluever said. "We did a lot of traveling and we were up a lot of hours this weekend trying to get everything put together so that we could run well. We didn't have a very good time in Kentucky, so it felt good to come back home and run well in front of all of these fans at Madison."

The TK2 team went through two engines in the Bluegrass state during the BFGoodrich Tires 125 at the 1.5-mile speedway. The team had to change one engine between practice and qualifying just to make it into the show.

"My guys just did an awesome job at getting that motor changed in great time. We were able to go out there and make the show with a solid effort. We were running pretty good when the motor began to misfire, so we just took her easy and got all of the points we could."

Kluever and the team then drove 500 miles back to their home-base in Wisconsin to prepare for the ASA Late Model opener at Madison, where Kluever is a former track champion (2001).

"I got home at 7 am, took a shower and turned right around and headed out the door. I got to sleep for about three hours in the truck on the way home, but that was it."

Kluever took Gerry Gunderman's #40 ASA Late Model home to a third-place finish. He trailed former track champions Kenseth and Ron Breese Jr. at the end of the event which was halted 25 laps from the finish due to a thunderstorm that moved into the area.

"I knew we were running out of laps," said Kluever. "Kenseth and Breese were beating and banging up there a bit. I was really waiting to see if an opportunity would come. If one of them slipped up, I was going to go by on the bottom.

"I am really happy with third-place, considering we really didn't get this car very good. If the car would have been on, we would have been unstoppable tonight.

"I've run four races for Gerry Gunderman and I've finished third in three of the four. That is just unbelievable. I promised Gerry I'd win one of these pretty soon."

Todd Kluever and the TK2 Racing team are gunning for the 2004 ASA National Championship, but need sponsorship to help them accomplish their goal. Kluever has finished in the top-10 in the ASA standings the last two years.
