Concord, NC - Saturday's running of the $76,850 Naturally Fresh Foods 250 presented by Today's Fireplace at Concord Motorsports Park in Concord, NC has drawn an impressive field of entries.
Current points leader Jay Fogleman will be joined by Bobby Gill, "Super" Mario Gosselin (winner of the ARCA Easy Care 100 at Lowes Motor Speedway), Justin Labonte (son of two-time NASCAR Winston Cup Champion Terry Labonte), Steven Christian, Mike Laughlin, Jr., Michael Ritch, Toby Porter, Andy Thurman, Mardy Lindley and newcomer Rick Hendrick, Jr. who will attempt to make his United Speed Alliance Racing Hooters ProCup debut. He is the 17-year-old son of NASCAR Winston Cup Team Owner Rick Hendrick.
Chad Chaffin, Smyrna, TN, won last year's spring race. Ritch, High Point, NC, won the fall race.
Fogleman, Durham, NC, holds a narrow five-point lead over Gill, Dalton, GA, in the $200,000 points race.
Also among the 44 drivers who have pre-entered the race; Mike Herman, Jr., Karen Schulz, Trent Owens (nephew of Richard Petty), Johnny Rumley (two-time NASCAR Busch Grand National winner), Jimmy Foster, Shane Kennedy and Rick Boga, Concord, NC, who also is making his first effort in the $1.5 million 20-race series.
Qualifying begins at 4 p.m. Racing will start at 8 p.m. Local classes will also be running following the Hooters ProCup race. For track information: 704-782-4221.
